Can’t believe it! In the air on the way to Java for 2 weeks to work for the LORD! And—Ifeel great! Oh thanks so muchLORD! Use me…

It took me hours to pack and decide what to take along! Youwould think this was my very first rodeo--Ha! ;) It’s Thanksgiving week so the team asked for a few special goodies—20 lbsworth! Kim bought 30 kg of luggagefor the flight and my bag weighed in at 30.4 kg (67 lbs) –and yes, I lifted(dragged and scooted) it up onto the scale! ;)

Mr Heng, my regular taxi guy, couldn’t take me to theairport this morning but he called to wish me well and sent Mr Z who arrived 45minutes early. ;) Of course the PIE was jammed, but we made it!

Was even able to SKYPE Dad and Mom on the way and point thephone outside so they could see the traffic jam and beauty of early morningSingapore. Dad said, “Look Lil,we’re in Singapore!” I love technology!

The J-Team has been working so hard and the LORD has enabledthem—but they are so tired. Prayfor them. Pray for me. I desperately need wisdom.

“Give me your mind LORD. Protect me from my own wants and desires that your's!”

After hearing about and praying for the e-campaign for many years I was privileged this year to become a part of it along with 10 college age young people from our church here in Arizona. My purpose in going was two-fold. First, it was to see and experience this great evangelistic opportunity first hand and secondly to expose our young people to a foreign mission field where they would be challenged to give their lives for the sake of the Gospel.

The opportunities to preach the Gospel are unlike anything most Christians have ever experienced. We spent day after day going from classroom to classroom giving the Gospel. Sometimes we had the opportunity to preach to the whole school at once in morning or afternoon assemblies. My personal favorite opportunity was preaching to 400 ROTC students who were being carefully watched by their commanders. The Philippine people have a deep respect for the Word of God and know much of the Scripture. Almost every class could quote John 3:16 with me, however few understand what John 3:16 means for them. It was a tremendous joy to be able to explain to them why Christ died and how they could receive the gift of eternal life through faith. After preaching at a High School reserved for only select and high achieving students, a young fourth year student named Ted came up to me as I was leaving and thanked me for preaching the Word of God. He told me that he had trusted Christ as his savior that day and now knew that he had eternal life. I cannot help but to think of Ted often and pray that he will grow into a faithful servant of the Lord.

My second reason in being a part of this year’s campaign was to expose some of our young people to the mission field. The impact on our team alone was worth the trip. Several have indicated their belief that God is calling them to serve on the mission field. All of them have become eternally focused and burdened for souls. While returning home and going through the final security at the Manila airport I noticed one of our young ladies sitting near the security area talking very earnestly to one of the security guards. He had apparently started a casual conversation asking why she had been in the Philippines. She took the opportunity not only to answer his question but also to share the message she had been sharing the past three weeks.

I am sure that when some read the stories and hear about the numbers of souls reached during this campaign they will shrug their shoulders in indifference or roll their eyes in unbelief. Having experienced this campaign first hand I would assure any doubters that this is truly a great work of God. I heard one testimony after another of those who had been saved in previous campaigns and whose life was radically changed. I saw the tears of a young student when she realized that Christ had died in her place. I have heard the emotional thank you from those have just trusted Christ and are trying to express their gratitude for our coming. I have seen God move in a mighty way the past three weeks and pray for the Lord to continue to develop this movement in the years ahead.

As we made the 7 hour trek back to our base in Dumaguete, I was reminded of a quote that I absolutely love. Henry Varley, a friend of D.L. Moody, said, "The world has yet to see what God can do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully and wholly consecrated to Him."

My heart is full of thanksgiving for all that God did this past week. Nearly 50,000 souls made a profession of faith in Christ. How can or could I begin to describe this past week in words??

During my week of serving with SMCI, God took me beyond my comfort zone when I got up in front of classrooms full of students to teach the gospel. I learned to depend on Him for words to speak, and to be His mouthpiece.

I absolutely loved the students! The Lord reminded me that those we taught aren't "just children" they are SOULS who have an eternal destiny... souls that Jesus died for, and souls who He loves so very much.

I was inspired & encouraged as I saw the zeal that the Filipino Christians (who we worked with this week) have, and yet I was deeply humbled & convicted for my own lack of fervency & TRUE passion for the ministry & evangelism. The Filipino Christians who we worked with absolutely love to serve God at any cost.

My heart was gripped & challenged as one person told me this past week, "We as Christians have no business being in the ministry if we cannot first go & evangelize." So many "Christians" today might be willing to do some kind of service in the church, but are we first winning souls for Jesus Christ -- the number one priority for us as believers?

My prayer is that the Lord would continue to enable me to be His faithful witness around the corner & around the world!

The Next Step For SMCI!

On August 15, after six grueling weeks, our Evangelistic Campaign in the Philippines officially ended. We thank the Lord for the many people who heard and responded to the Gospel. We are also thankful for the many people from around the world who had a part in making this year's e-Campaign a wonderful success.

Our team in the Philippines, Student Movement for Christ International (SMCI) did a wonderful job by securing permission to preach the gospel in several hundreds of high school, college and university campuses. During the six weeks nearly 100 people from Singapore, Brazil, Ireland, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and the US joined our local teams for this year's e-campaign. Together we preached the gospel 5,248 times, reaching 263,023 people with 161,988 of those made salvation decisions. In addition we passed out over 300,000 gospel tracts and 10,000 gospel pamphlets.

The Prayer Warrior teams were amazing in their steadfast prayer day by day and it was evident that the LORD heard and answered! This year there were well over 9 thousand people joining in the prayer teams from all over the world!

It was a great campaign! And the Lord far exceeded our expectations. It was very exciting to be able to enter a school and within one to two hours to present a clear and simple, yet accurate, Gospel to every person on that campus-and this we did hundreds of times. It was also encouraging to see God work both in the lives of those who heard the Gospel and those who preached the Gospel.

We just starting the difficult task of follow up and are in the process of getting the first 10,000 Bibles sent to our SMCI centers to give to the many who made decisions during the campaign. Please continue to pray for our follow-up work.

From the fruit of last year's ecampaign, we had nearly 5000 people enrolled in weekly discipleship classes. We are asking the Lord to give us 10,000 people to disciple this year.

I Know What Happened Counted For Eternity

I had a hard time getting to the Philippines... I was delayed a whole day, and almost delayed the second. By the time I got to the Manila they wouldn't let me into the country because I didn't have all the right papers. When I finally arived and met Pastor Mike again he said to me, "Kaylin, the devil has tried so hard to keep you away that I believe the Lord is going to do something powerful through you, and to you!" and do you know what... HE HAS! The Lord has changed my life forever, and used the Holy Spirit through me to spread the Good News to thousands of kids my age!

Here in the states, you hear many different stories about what the Lord can do, but for the past 6 weeks, I lived it! God, and the Power of God has just become so much more real to me. Especially the power of prayer. We prayed for everything, and we saw many people make a descision.

The Lord also opened my eyes to the lost and dying world out there. It is incredible! The thought of so many people dying and going to Hell never really became very real until I saw all those kids in those class rooms, and their precious faces. The thought would often cross my mind weither or not they would go to Heaven or Hell, and they just gave me the burden to tell more people about the Love of God!

Because of this incredible oppertunity, God has now given me a new burden. I have this desire to tell everyone that I meet about Jesus, or at least give them a tract.

Everything we do here should count for eternity... whether it is good or bad, that is up to you. But I know that what happened this summer, counted for eternity in thousands of lives.

Just When I Thought God Couldn't, He Did!

This was the second time I was able to serve in the SMCI e-Campaign in the Philippines, and I have seen the Lord work like never before! I saw Him open doors when it seemed there was no possible way to open them. Just when I would think God couldn't, He did, and it made me realize that I limit God way to much in my own thinking. He is limitless, and he is all powerful. There are many examples where I witnessed the power of God first hand. One day we went into schools, and it was exam day. The first school shut us down and said no. The principal said that it was unlikely that we would be able to get into any schools. We prayed as a van, and at the next school something miraculous happened. The principal said that the exam papers were arriving late, and we were able to go in and preach to the school. Some may say it was just coincidence, but we knew it was completely God. God stopped those papers from coming when they should have been there.

On that same day I had preached outside for a while and was feeling extremely sick, I didn't know if I was dehydrated or what, but I knew I was really sick and I didn't know if I could preach at the last school. I just prayed to God to give me the strength to press on. The van ride made me feel worse; we arrived at the high school. I got out, saw all the kids, and knew I had to preach. I planned on only giving a short Gospel message and moving on. Pastor Renz (Growpoint Church Davao/SMCI) took me to a class of 3rd year students. As soon as I stepped into that classroom I felt completely fine! It was amazing as I experienced Gods almighty power. I have never felt anything like that before, and I I knew it was God. That class ended up being one of the most attentive and interested classes I preached too. The teacher also was moved by the Holy Spirit during the time of preaching!

I could go on and on about the big and little things that God used to show me his power during this jam packed week! People may say that God doesn't perform miracles in our day. They may say that the God of Noah, Moses, Abraham doesn't do cool things in this modern world. But HE DOES. I have been able to experience it first hand, and I have heard stories from many others participating in this campaign of Gods power.

A lot of people, including me, go into this for the first time thinking that they are only there to minister to the Filipinos. You are there for that, but God will also minister to you and he will show you great and mighty things over and over again to let you know that he is there.

The evil one has a presence also, and you can feel that he is there trying to distract from our goal to preach, but every time there has been a distraction, God has shown himself more powerful.

The Lord provided over a quarter of a million souls in 6 weeks to hear the gospel. His power is amazing, and He is working in the lives of many people. I am so thankful for this opportunity God has given me the past 2 years of serving in the Philippines with SMCI. It has changed my life. I look forward to participating in this every summer if the Lord wills it! And-I am praying through the year for the brothers and sisters in the Phiilippines!

An Evaluation of the SMCI e-Campaign 2011

Some have asked if the amazing work of God through the E-Campaign this year is a revival. Over a quarter of a million people heard the Gospel and thousands responded in only six short weeks. Whereas the work that God did in the Philippines was miraculous and glorious, it wasn't revival. It was the normal work of the Gospel done in dependence on the Holy Spirit of God. Our leader, Evangelist Mike Redick, challenged us at the beginning of the campaign with what it takes to capture a city for God. It takes faith, obedience, and courage. We decided to add a 4th point to his message - HARD WORK!

Granted, the Philippines is an unusual place and is uniquely and I believe strategically prepared by God for evangelism. There is a nearly universal belief that sin condemns, that the Bible is the Word of God, and that Jesus is God's Son. In addition, there is an openness in the culture to religious expression and specifically a desire to have a close relationship with God. This makes the Philippines a ripe and fertile ground for a clear, compelling presentation of the Gospel. But there are plenty of fundamental churches in the Philippines that, like their American counterparts, are doing little to reach the lost and are not seeing the rich blessing of the Lord that the SMCI E-Campaign experienced.

The difference is the willingness of the "SMCIans" to step out on faith, obey God and boldly proclaim the Gospel. Several times in Scripture the Gospel is likened to seed. It is powerful and produces life everywhere it is preached. The difference is there was a plan, and an all out effort to carry out that plan by the workers of Student Movement for Christ International. I praise the Lord for every one of the over 140 workers from 5 different countries that assembled there, but I praise the Lord especially for the 70+ full and part time SMCI workers on the ground in the Philippines. They worked tirelessly over the last several months to secure the permissions from individual administrators all over the Visayas. The vision to preach the Gospel to over 1,000,000 people over the next 5 years is not just a dream cast by Mike Redick. It is a burden God has placed on the hearts of the leadership and being carried out by the hard work of the SMCI staff.

Daily in classrooms and gymnasiums we saw the supernatural, normal work of God making a way for His word to penetrate the hearts of needy souls. I can remember many days wondering if my voice and my body would last more than one classroom, let alone the 7-9 I knew were waiting for me that day. But the grace of the Lord is powerful. His strength really is made perfect in our weakness! Many days I felt stronger at the end of the day than I did at the beginning. While the E-Campaign is an extraordinary effort, God will bless our everyday ordinary efforts with the same enabling grace. Frankly, the problem is that many of us are not giving the Gospel a chance.

The prayers recorded by the early church in the New Testament rarely ask God to work in the hearts of the lost they were trying to reach, God's sovereign work of drawing men to Himself seems to have been assumed. Their prayers were for boldness on their part. The need of our day is more confidence in the ever-present power of the Gospel, and more faith inspired obedience to Great Commission Living. Praise the Lord for the faith, obedience, courage, and hard work of Student Movement for Christ. May it inspire us to step out in the same way!

"It was just the second time I went into a classroom to preach during the e-campaign. I was a bit nervous. When I came into the classroom and started preaching I was surprised at how attentive the kids and the teacher were to the gospel.

After I had finished presenting the gospel and was passing out the good news booklets to the kids the teacher came up to me and asked me for a Bible. She said that "she wanted to teach her kids more about this gospel." I went up to the van and looked for one and finally found a new testament in their island language and my own Bible which I use. I took both of them back and as I entered the class to give them to the teacher the whole class erupted into cheers! I've never seen a group of people so excited to receive God's word."

"The last school I spoke in before heading home, after I presented the gospel and gave the invitation, I told the class that if they genuinely trusted Christ as their Savior, that even though I may never see them again in the Philippines I would see them in heaven again someday.

As I moved to the back of the room to pick up decision slips, all of a sudden a girl jumped to her feet and turned to me and said, "I want you to know my name." Seeing her new found faith so real in her that she wanted me to know her name when we meet again in heaven thrilled my soul.

"one of the best examples of

Christian teamwork we have ever encountered"-the B's

"We are D and S from the U.S! Both 75 years of age and we went to the Philippines to give the Gospel with Evangelist Mike Redick and SMCI in the 2011 e-campaign!

They warned us it was to be a very grueling and exhausting time and so we asked the LORD if we should indeed go. As we prayed and talked to each other about it, a fire in us was lit and we knew we just had to go! We would ask the LORD for two weeks.

Arriving early in Negros, we got settled in with the help of Pastor Mitch and Fily Joy (SMCI/Growpoint Church Pastor), then traveled with some of the team to start the e-Campaign in Leyte!

For two weeks we were strengthened and renewed each day by the Holy Spirit!

We entered classroom after classroom full of students who wanted to hear what we had to say! Having heard, they made decisions for Jesus--decisions to trust Him alone to save them, decisions to learn more, decisions to do Bible studies with SMCI... The school administrators gave us their students and time, the teachers willingly gave us their classroom time and the students gave their rapt attention.

We were taught to use the outline of the Gospel from a tract we were given. We used that and our life experiences to illustrate the truth! We prayed that the Holy Spirit would enable us to preach the Gospel so that it might be an exciting and meaningful presentation. He did and it was a success!!!! PTL!!!!!

The other real blessing we received was to meet the others on the teams from other parts of the world. We learned from them and we all helped each other in one of the best examples of Christian teamwork we have ever encountered. We believe we all made friendships that will last forever."

After being retired for more than 12 years, the B's left home for the open road last Christmas! They have been volunteering very effectively for an educational NGO in a RAN since then. Their holiday time was given to being used of the LORD to change the eternities of thousands.

They have since returned to the RAN.

Praise the LORD for them, "may their tribe increase."

Having preached the gospel to tens of thousands of people and having seen large numbers of people respond to the gospel I have often asked myself, 'Are these decisions real?" Several years ago I was in a particular city in the Philippines preaching on several university campuses. The Lord was wonderfully moving and lots of young people were making salvation decisions.

The following year I was in the same city visiting the local Christian book store. The manager came to me and said, 'Last year when you were preaching on the campuses so many young people were coming into the store looking for Bibles that I wanted to know what was going on so I attended one of your evening meetings and the Lord spoke to me that I should start a church so I did." Then he asked If I would preach in his church on Sunday. I agreed.

When I entered his church on that Sunday morning and started meeting people I was amazingly pleased to know that the majority of his 60 or so church members had been saved in our crusades the previous year. As I left the church that Sunday the Lord spoke to me saying, "The converts may be lost to you and your ministry but they are not lost to me." This has helped to keep me and my team preaching the Gospel faithfully where ever the door is open.

In reality, this kind of thing happens to me all over the Philippines. I was once in a fast food restaurant in a small out of the way town and the guard stopped our team going in and said, "I was saved several years ago when you preached in my college campus."

We preach an honest and clear Gospel. We preach that all men are sinners separated from God that there is an eternal punishment for sin. We preach that Jesus Christ came into this world and died on the cross-paying the penalty for all our sin. We preach that in order for man to be saved that they must repent of their sin and in faith trust Jesus Christ alone as their personal savior and Lord. Having preached a clear Gospel, we then call people to decide.

We are very careful not to give people a false sense of assurance. Those who decide are never classified as saved. We simply acknowledge the fact that they responded to the message preached and thus made a decision for salvation. We give everyone a 'Good News' gospel tract, we then get the names and particulars of those who made a decision and for the next few months our SMCI team will work at following them up.

If that is easy believe-ism then I stand guilty.

We were at a school where young men are trained to be Mariners yesterday. After one room to room evangelism, I was looking around for the next one when I saw Raymond (SMCI) waving! He said he had found another class for me to preach to.

When I stepped into the classroom, I realized it was an air-conditioned enclosed room. There were four students sitting inside waiting for class to start. As I began introducing myself, 10 more students came in, so I had 14 male students in the class. Even though I was quite fearful to close the door, I still did it as it was quite noisy outside.

As I placed my bag on the table, there was this guy in the front row wearing a cap. With a straight face he asked me, "Are you going to preach about God's word?' I was surprised and at the same time taken aback as I thought he was not going to be interested but when I said 'yes I am' he took off his cap, sat up and looked at me-- ready to listen.

I started sharing the Gospel with them and when I was about 3/4 through, I noticed the same guy taking out his handkerchief to wipe away tears and place it at his nose. When I asked for a decision, he was one of the first few to raise his hand and he made the decision that day to accept Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior.

As I walked toward him to collect his decision slip, I couldn't help but notice the dramatic change in his countenance, he had a smile and i could see joy. I knew he had been born again. Praise the Lord!

One of the great needs of SMCI is of course BIBLES--we always need more Bibles! What happened to Simon this final week and to Tim(CO Western Slope Team) during the first week highlights this pressing need! Let's take it to the LORD!

Could You Get Me A Bible?

Our last stop today was USEP and an SMCI Evening Fellowship.

I was asked to preach a message on "Lordship" and I took a passage from Luke 17:11-19 to share on loving the giver not only His gift. Though it was an SMCI fellowship and presumably all those who came were believers, I gave a salvation invitation nonetheless.

After the message, a lady approached me and told me she had accepted Jesus as her Saviour but she hasn't had a bible and asked whether I could give her one. I only had my old but trusted bible, genuine leather bound and its my favourite. But her seeking eyes compelled me. I gave her my bible, amidst a bit of a heavy heart, cuz it was dear to me but her soul is far dearer to Christ. I encouraged her to read this bible which had accompanied me for years. She told me she would read the Bible I gave her.

I just pray she would indeed grow in the Lord using the Bible I just gave her.

Today I was reminded by giving her my Bible that Christ is the Giver and the love of the Giver for the lost is indeed the best gift I can ever possess. All other things pale in comparision. Giving her the bible is nothing compared to the love of our Saviour who gave Himself for us. I thank God for being able to be a blessing to someone who has a greater need than I have. Thank God :)

Simon (Singapore T1 & T6) is a Forensic Scientist dealing with DNA and various projects throughout the region. He was in the first Singapore Team to come over and now he was able by God's grace to come back for the final week. This has been his first e-Campaign.

The Missing Piece

As I sit down to write, it is hard to put into words what I am feeling and what I have witnessed. It is almost a week since I returned home from two weeks of the e-campaign 2011 and I am still feeling the effects of the time difference.

God blessed marvelously. It is hard for us in the US to grasp the magnitude of what is happening in this campaign in the Philippines. I know the numbers reported seem unbelievable to many. Let me assure you all that it is real. It's just something we never see at home. The Philippines is a nation so ripe for the gospel, and our efforts were concentrated on the age groups most likely to receive the gospel.

The staunch Roman Catholic background of the country actually makes the presentation of the gospel easier. Almost all of the young people we encountered believed in the existence of God, the authority of the Bible, the Person and Work of Jesus Christ and even their own sinful condition. They also are just plain hungry for the gospel. I watched high school age young people STAND and listen to me preach for a half hour. They would remain in the heat or rain, or stay after class after a long school day to listen. What a blessing to see the expressions of relief and joy flood over the faces of young people as they began to grasp that their own salvation could not be purchased through their own good works, and that Jesus Christ paid the price completely on the cross. I felt like a person walking into a room full of puzzles. Every one is missing just one piece to make them complete and I get the fun of walking around the room and placing the missing piece in each puzzle.

None of this would have happened though, without the hard work of the SCMI staff. They have spent months traveling to hundreds of high schools and colleges, getting letters of permission to preach, and then scheduling visits. On top of all that, they organized for all the care of the e-team members. Great works of God are almost always accompanied by the diligent work of God's faithful people. They worked hard, and yet the harvest is so clearly God's work, not man's. It is a glorious thing to behold.

I am sure that this is what it must have been like back in the revival campaigns of Moody, Sunday and others. Ours was once a nation saturated with the word of God. So much so that simple gospel preaching could ignite the already fueled souls with the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. For those of you back home, do not be skeptical, but rather prayerful and thankful that our great God is still on the throne and is still doing a great work.

"Tuesday I approached 2 college age students on a USEP campus. As I began to give the Gospel, I discovered they had already made decsions and gave wonderful salvation testimonies. The exciting news was that they had heard the Gospel in 2008 through SMCI! Praise God for the wide-spread ministry of SMCI!"

Many exciting happenings today:

On Negros, the LORD allowed Room to Room in an Elementary School for the very first time today!
Ptr Mike, Eishen and Kim flew to meet Team Two. They flew in a tiny little propeller plane in the midst of rain and lightening! :) They arrived safely to rejoice with Team 2!
Team TWO reports they had power in preaching and open doors in a previously unsympathetic school and even found a sister to carry on and work with in authority!
Team ONE had the honour of reaching some precious deaf students!
And most amazing of all, today the LORD answered our prayer in allowing the e-Campaigners to preach the Gospel to over 200,000 hearers! We should have prayed for more! Thank you LORD!

Week 6, Day 37
Davao, Mindanao

Tuesday Danao Team B arrived at a college in just as a religious service was ending. The plan was for one of our team to do a mass evangelism, but when the service was over all the students left!

Kaylin (PA/ PM's A Team) asked our team to pray to ask the LORD to over rule, which they did! Our SMCI worker spoke with the school authorities who then announced over the school's PA for all the students to return. More came than had been present for the previous service! As it turns out, many of the students had been doing a Bible study with a pastor from town while the others were attending the religious service.

Gerladine (SMCI) came to the microphone, planning to say, "Would you like to sing an action song?" But instead she said in her lovely musical voice, "Would you like to play a game?" She led the student body in a very fun game. All laughed and played along.

Then she introduced PJeff. He said he sensed the presence of God as He gave the Gospel and many made decisions. While he did not have the garb and ceremony of the previous speaker, he had Christ's righteous robes personally and offered the young people God's marvelous exchange - His robes for theirs. Many made decisions!

Thanks for praying! This is the school B High School that has a big m.population. There were accounts of demonic possessions being common here in the past.

Thanks be to God for power and freedom and favor. The lady in the picture is the school counsellor and she is Christian lady. There were also some m.girls who listened intently... could sense that they were really fearful.
It's just the beginning... please keep praying.

Rachel has just arrived from PA to join the 6th week of the campaign. It has been Rachel's prayer and that of her mum and others that she would be able to use her abilbity to "sign" to reach those precious deaf who would be along the e-Campaign trail. This was her first day of Campaigning!!

What an amazing first day of spreading the “Good News” of Jesus Christ! God opened up an opportunity today for me to witness to 8 young eager souls with eyes to listen, for their ears could not.

As I sat in our van awaiting my opportunity I looked to my right and saw two girls signing to each other. Was it just by chance that I saw them signing? I THINK NOT! It was God’s divine and wonderful plan for me to look and see these forgotten and somewhat forsaken children.

As I think back on today I am reminded of Moses in Exodus 4:10-13 where God reminds Moses that He doesn’t only make creations that appear perfect to us, but His creations ARE perfect in His eyes. Every person was and is divinely formed by the hands of God!

Wow! Who am I to deliver such a saving message? With exuberance bursting inside and eager hands to teach I jumped out of the van and ran right over to the girls signing as I went. I had never seen such shocked faces before. Their eyes begged me to communicate and their hands were eager to talk. As we gathered all the deaf, we were ushered to their one room school house, which was separate from the rest of the school. My heart leapt with joy as I saw them gleaming with excitement. It was such an honor to be able to teach and explain to these young souls about Jesus and the wonderful gift that He offers, for they had never heard the “Good News” before.

After I gave the Gospel, all the 8 souls eagerly raised their hands declaring their decision to accept Christ into their hearts (**it is important to note that pretty much every religious young person in the campaign has already "accepted Jesus into their hearts" based on what they know. What Rachel taught is the part they don't know, she was asking them to do is trust Christ alone to save them from sin, death and hell because of Christ's finished work! ;) and wanting a personal relationship with God. After I was finished, several of them said that they wanted to share the “Good News” with their parents. WHAT?! Amen, is all I can say.

The prayers of so many and especially my mother, who has been praying for months that I might be able to share the Gospel with the deaf, have come to fruition by the grace of God and His divine working. As I reflect back, my heart is awed in amazement at God’s wonderful working. I praise Him for allowing me to be able to be a part of His wonderful plan.

Walk with the King today and see His wonderful works.

Today went to a high school. Shared the gospel with a class where the teacher stayed with us and heard the gospel! At the end, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour.

While collecting back the decision slips, she asked whether a Bible study class could be done for her class. I said yes and I would inform the SMCI about her request.

I met Geraldine, an SMCI worker later and told her the request that was made by the teacher. Geraldine and I went to see the teacher who clarified her request was made on behalf of the students and only if her students desired to have Bible studies. I hadn't looked at the slips yet but took a quick look and realised the teacher was indeed "prophetic". Most of her students ( more than 70%) wanted Bible studies!

I told the teacher that indeed most of her class of students wanted Bible studies. Geraldine got the contact of the teacher and will be following up on the Bible studies.

Week 5, Day 33

Today, the Gospel rolled like a wave through this entire campus!

We set out early in the morning as usual! As we arrived and were piling out of the van we heard them announcing their special speaker, Dr. Mike Redick, who would be speaking at their leadership workshop conference. The student council leaders (in their pink shirts) greeted us right away and from that point on each of us was assigned to be accompanied by one.

After Dr. Redick’s speech we were ushered by the student leader to go into every classroom on that campus that had morning classes! We had lunch break – together with the student council. After lunch a group of us were escorted again to cover afternoon classes.

Early in the evening we had a Film Showing/ Gospel Night. While Pr. Chris(Grace Bapt, Cebu) preached, the student leaders came in and made sure that we covered all of the night classrooms simultaneously!

There was one class the teacher didn’t allow my teammate to enter. As my teammate was walking away, two students chased her and asked her to come back at 8pm because they wanted their classmates to hear what we had to bring! It’s such a joy to see God’s word speak to hearts! I can think of teachers who were just amazed by the Words of Scripture and were touched. Every (available) student on that Campus heard the Gospel--some even it heard twice!

One of the neatest things about the student leaders is that they were with us all day and into the evening! Some of them heard the Gospel 5-9 times! Many of these student leaders made professions of faith after this!

In the first classroom I entered, I could tell the student leader didn’t know exactly what was going on because her introduction of me was “and she is going to speak today about… about the God.” It was obvious that she wasn’t even sure WHO I believed in and that she wasn’t sure of the message that I had to bring. After that first class though – she made a decision to accept God’s gift through Jesus! Her introduction changed; “and she is going to teach us the important truth of God from His word.”

We became quite attached to the student leaders who’d been assigned to us for an exciting day! --So much so even that the parting time wasn’t easy. As all of the student leaders gathered around us you would have thought we’d known each other for a very long time-many of us now knit together in the Spirit!

Thank God for believers such as Ptr. Chris and SMCians who have Bible Studies there every week—already poised for the followup! Please ask the LORD to keep this door open and to grow the new believers! Remember too the precious ones who rejected the Son on that day, that they too would soon receive the Son as the only One to save them!

We got home at 10:30 pm, tired but again completely fulfilled in His work!

The e-Campaign Team One flew into D this afternoon and we checked into the Pensionne House.

Checking out the neighbourhood, some of us noticed a basketball court in the Mormon Church yard opposite where we were staying. As it was open, a couple of us decided to play a game of basketball.

As we stepped out of the hotel, some kids were finishing their game so Yufei went over to ask if we could borrow their basketball. They and stayed to watch us. Din din (Geraldine) (one of the SMCI full time workers) saw us int he church yard and asked us what we were doing.

She said that it would be great to be able to play with the boys and share the Gospel with them too.

So... she gathered the group and shared the Gospel with them. All 7 made the decision to trust Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! We will be looking for them in church tomorrow!

News Just In From Team Danao!

"The Danao team had a great week, giving the Gospel day and night. I had to smile as I woke early on my birthday to spend time in the Word only to discover a brown out. My Psalm for the day began with these lovely words, "The Lord is my light." How true! We enjoyed a week with no closed doors. In fact, God opened unexpected doors.

Yesterday afternoon we were able to return to Pusok National High School for a mass evangelism. The school was conducting a safety seminar and there was concern that the speaker would not be finished in time. As we waited in the library for our turn, Jeremy encouraged a time of prayer in which we asked God to allow this wonderful opportunity.

He answered exceeding abundantly. PJeff sensed such freedom as he spoke to at least 1000 young people. They listened and responded.

We had driven by a Starbucks and Jeff and Paul (SMCI) decided this would be a wonderful birthday treat. So we all enjoyed a very special coffee drink.

Last evening we had another film showing and Jeremy preached a beautiful Gospel message about the lost sheep and the Shepherd. Many trusted Christ. We ended our day with Pastor Frupet and Ate Rosita and the new church in Danao and a very fun birthday dinner.

There is nothing like the sweetness of working together with believers for the Gospel. Thank you for your prayers. God is hearing.

Thank you and all the prayer warriors so much for praying. I believe that many mountains were removed because of your praying. Praise the LORD. I had opportunities to preach the gospel at a prison, a finance company, a motor shop, a village, a village church, plenty of classrooms! Responses were overwhelmingly good. Praise the Lord.

I thank God for knitting the hearts of the team together. Indeed it was an answer to prayer.-

One thing we did learn from yesterday, Pastor Ian said the BOGO team also was able to preach in a prison and had a great response! They said they were humbled by their hunger for the truth!

TODAY:

One team showed a film in the community and preached,
one team showed a film in an auditorium and then preached.
Everyone did room to room.
Our famous author, "Pastor Mike" taught at a leadership conference today thus getting SMCI permission to do room to room on that college campus today!

Mass Evangelism In 2 Prisons Today

The day is coming when the LORD will allow cell to cell evangelism in the prisons! It wasn't today, but today was a great victory and huge step in that direction! Today both the City Team and the Bogo Team did mass evangelism to prisoners...such a wonderful opportunity to take hope to many who are hopeless...

SMCI Alum Rey, a brother from SMCI, Bohol is now working in a prison on the island of Cebu. It has been his dream all along to take the Gospel to the prison the way it is done on the campuses!

So of course when the e-Campaign dates for CEBU were announced, Rey and other SMCians asked for permission to do cell to cell evangelism during this week. This is a new concept to the prison administration and the person in charge was a little concerned about the reaction in the prison.

The Director and the 2nd in charge, being believers, arranged first for 2 mass evangelism sessions with men from the dormitories, many of who have been waiting for trial for up to 5 years.

The LORD blessed and softened hearts to the saving message of Christ's death, burial and resurrection payment for our sins! Many trusted the LORD!

There is a Christian group working with the prisoners and we pray too that the LORD will continue to use them.

Regardless, this is a huge answer to prayer and the 3 SMCians working there will now be able to continue to follow up and pray and build toward the goal of "cell to cell evangelism!"

TEAM BOGO also ministered in a Jail today with wonderful blessing from the LORD and many decisions!

A busy day with many and varied opportunities!

Two teams preached in the community tonight--hoping to have pics of that soon! All three teams did room to room on campuses too. One team had the blessing of preaching in a prison which was arranged by SMCI graduates who work there (pictures in the next post!) Two team members drove 3 hours to deliver Chris' lost luggage! One person even got to play a little volleyball with students in between!

AND more answered prayer and great news, on Bohol the campaign continues! You may remember the team was postponed last week and invited to come this week instead. The Bohol SMCI team went room to room today where the LORD allowed 25 opportunities to preach the Gospel resulting in 889 people hearing the good news and 272 making decision! PTL!

Daphne has been part of SMCI Negros. It is her heart's desire to serve the LORD full time with SMCI, but her parents have not allowed her to do so yet! After this week, Daphne-now a graduate- will be returning home to work a secular job and honor her parents.

While in Negros last week, Daphne made it known to PM that she wanted to join us in Cebu to help for one last week but lacked the financial ability to do so. PMike told her we would pray about it and trust the Lord. A moment later he came over to inform Kabing and myself (Kim) of Daphne's desire so we could make plans for her in expectation of God's provision.

As we were talking and praying and wondering how we could financially swing it, one of our Singaporean team members who was leaving that day politely interrupted (not knowing what we were talking about) and said she had a certain amount of cash and would like to give it to the ministry and could we help her channel it?!!! PTL God provided for Daphne and the desire of her heart. What a blessing for Daphne, our teams, the souls who will sit under her proclaiming of the Gospel and for that person who gave - eternal fruit credited to her account!

Remember to pray for Daphne and the salvation of her parents!

Simply (Team Leader, Bohol) is over on Cebu too serving the Cebu Team by preaching, keeping the water bottles filled and recording the statistics at the end of each day-a monumental job! (Last week he was the overall leader! So happy to see that SMCI leaders are servants first and foremost!) Rosie is in the left background! She is sending the photos, stats, and information to go on the blog and to be sent to the prayer warriors! PTL for everybody!

These girls got to hear the gospel twice in one hour! Once in their classroom and once through personal evangelism on campus. They followed us almost to the gate of the campus because they wanted to get to know us. God is working in hearts and drawing them.

Monday night two of the teams combined to cover this campus (2 photos below) all in one shot. Imagine walking through the school in the darkness, passing room after room and hearing...

'God has a wonderful plan for your life',

We were extremely tired after finishing this campus late last night and still had an hour's drive home plus a short organizational meeting. We all agreed in the van that this was the best thing in the world that we could be doing! What a privilege and what a responsibility!

Day 29 of 40

Well, it's been a great day! This is actually the second day on CEBU! Sunday the teams traveled to 3 different churches to minister and worship together!

Also on Sunday, Jeremy had a mass evangelism with 450 students! What a first day! The LORD gave a wonderful response! Pastor Ian also preached the Gospel at a mass evangelism with 1600 ROTC Cadets! The LORD gave much fruit and they saw over 1300 decisions! Wow! Amazing!

Along with Singapore Team 5, the team also welcomed Chris and Ariel, straight from Maranatha Baptist Bible College! The first MBBC Team! This is Ariel's second year in the e-Campaign and Chris' first! They are from BBC in PA who is also sending their second team next week! We are happy to have them all! It's rumored that Chris' luggage is lost somewhere in the firmament! Today's update says it's on a bus somewhere following him! So do pray for him!

So it's Monday! There are 3 main teams heading in different directions! Remember them in prayer!

Last school of the day. Started at 6:30pm. This was a high school in Car Car City that holds evening sessions. Great response. We covered all of sections 20+. There were about 60 students in each class!

Are You Afraid To Die? ...No, I'm the Night Guard!

On Bohol, in the city of Tagbilaran, we often stay in a Pensionne House (Guest House) called the El Portal. The many teams who have stayed there have gotten to know the staff, who are very welcoming, so much so that a stop there feel almost like going home! It is near the SMCI Centre and Growpoint Church. The place is clean, and quiet and cheap. Downstairs there is a small reception area with a front desk, settee, today’s newspaper and a dining area open to the guests. There’s pretty good internet sometimes too. It was here that Kaylin had this experience on 29 July 2011:

"I went down stairs last evening to write in my journal, and when I sat down ready to start, the Night Guard, Kuya (polite term meaning older brother) R, came over and started to talk to me. He asked me what I was doing and the conversation went on from there.

I asked if he had ever shot anyone before, and he said no. I asked him if he was afraid to die. And his reply was “no, because I am a good person, and I am Night Guard who protects people”. The Lord used that to open up many different doors. He kept on asking questions and so the Lord allowed me to give him the Gospel!

One of the many illustrations that the Lord led me to use was the “gift exchange”. I gave him my pink pen as a free gift… just like salvation is a free gift. He had a very strong religious background involving works, so it was difficult to explain to him that the things man does to merit favor with God meant nothing-that Jesus Christ, and he alone, had already paid the price completely for our sins.

At the end of our conversation, Kuya R prayed and accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour! Praise the Lord, he now understands! After he prayed he took his prayer beads out of his pocket and gave them to me. He said “here, this was my grandfather’s, you can keep it… it is a gift!” That just sealed it in my mind that he truly put his faith in Jesus Christ alone. He doesn’t need them anymore. He is not trusting in his good works or religious practices… but in Jesus Christ alone!"

Pray for Kuya "R" that the Bohol Growpoint Church and SMCI team will be able to follow up with him and even reach his family!

"...sharing my devotion with you this morning. I was reading Ezra 1 . . . and was led to a familiar passage. This time the Lord allowed me to apply what I had learned.

1) God stirred the heart of Persian King Cyrus and I ...pray that King Jesus will open the hearts of the authorities of the schools in which we will share the Gospel.

2) God stirred the hearts of the Jews to go back to work and I ...
pray God will stir my heart and the hearts of the team to LABOUR with passion for the work.

3) God raised up support for the WORK and I ...
pray that God will stir up prayer warriors around the world to pray and support this GLORIOUS work!

Let's also pray for:

unity of spirit and purpose among the many team members as they work side by side
safety physically and spiritually

People Often Ask About The Follow-Up...

So, Can We Really Trust The LORD With Every-thing?

People often ask about the follow-up after the campaign. It's a reasonable question and a burden that SMCI Director Mike Redick and the entire SMCI team share! As you know, it's one of our biggest prayer requests -- we pray that the LORD would allow us to disciple and follow up the new believers--and also we are so burdened for those with questions yet unanswered!

The 70 full-time and many part time SMCI workers continue the evangelistic ministry and carry out discipleship and Bible Study during the year. Last year, the LORD allowed us to have almost 5000 students enrolled in Bible Study on 7 islands and 70 campuses. This year, we are asking for many more! Does the LORD have no plan for those who do not join us? Are they abandoned?

Absolutely not!

We believe that God has his eye on every new believer. He has shown us time and time again that He has a plan for every single one! While we do all we can and also call upon Him to provide for each and every child of His--we know we are not the ONLY ones He uses-he uses other Bible believers and churches! Time and time again we have seen Him do it!

So when we received this email, we weren't surprised, just awed again at the Omnipotent, Omniscient hand of the LORD who goes ahead to prepare the way for those who are the called according to His purpose--and our great God who answers prayer!

Please rejoice with us and read this most amazing email from Rich and Christy Lee and their son Landon Lee! They are missionaries who have recently started serving the LORD in Negros Occidental (Week 2)! They are from Open Door Baptist Church in Troutdale, Oregon!

. . . it has been so uplifting to get your emails every evening and see how wondrously the Lord is working throughout the Philippines . . . we are now settling in to missionary life here in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Our youngest son Landon goes to high school at Gil Montilla NHS and when we heard you were coming through we made sure we were all there to meet your team. There were more classrooms than Evangelists so my husband Rich got in on the action too! IF the Lord leaves us here another year . . . we would love to join your team. May the Lord continue to draw souls to Himself and give you the health, strength and wisdom needed for each day.

. . . I forgot to tell you that the young Pastor (SM) who is part of our mission and I are having music and devotions with the students who have vacant classes on Fridays at Gil Montilla NHS. We have gotten positive feedback and we also plan a monthly outreach for the entire school. Hopefully we will be able to stay in touch with the ones who accepted Christ recently and may more lives be touched!

Singapore Team 5 Arrives In Cebu!

Today Pastor Ian preached a mass evangelism with 1500 unsaved students on the parade grounds! They believe about 85% of the students made decisions! What a great beginning!

Jeremy also preached at a mass evangelism with about 500 students in attendance today! Many made decisions!

Singapore T2 asks us to pray for:

Unity in spirit among the team members
Power in preaching
That the Spirit will draw the lost to salvation
The health and physical strength of the team

"We were waiting for the next classroom when a teacher approached and began talking to my team mates. After a couple minutes I was walking into this teacher’s classroom to give the Gospel. I waited in the back as they honored Mary at the beginning of their class. I was then invited to the front with this introduction; “this is Rosie from Brazil and she is here to answer your questions…”

"I got right into the message of the Gospel and at the end of class the invitation to receive Christ’s payment for our sins and hell was made. Decision slips were then passed out and one was also handed to the teacher. I watched as the teacher walked to the front of the room to get a pen out of his desk to fill out the slip. As he was writing I could hear him saying out loud “I accept Jesus as my Savior”. The sound of his voice and HIS WORDS put a big smile on my face! As I retrieved the slips from them I saw on the back of his slip that he indeed had trusted Christ!"

Now what I didn’t know was that before class when he was talking to my team mate he had told her that he really likes what SMCI is doing on a weekly basis on their campus through Bible studies. He told my team mate that he had so many questions about life and Christianity that he wanted answered. My team mate then told him that I would be going into his class room and that I would be able to answer his questions! It was his day of salvation! It was God’s divine appointment with this precious soul who was so earnestly seeking and as the Bible promises those who seek – this teacher found the ANSWER he was looking for – JESUS CHRIST!"

This is exactly what God does when we pray and step forward in faith believing! Keep praying prayer warriors--the teams will keep stepping out!

Let's ask the LORD to connect those who are crying out to know Him to those with the truth! ;)

Despite their own fatigue, the SMCI workers are always so busy with arranging the schedule for each day of the e-camp. (THANK GOD SO MUCH FOR EVERY ONE OF THEM! Just think of it, we just preach to a big class, but THEY are the ones who follow up with each individual!) And yet they still take the extra effort in love to make things comfortable for us.

Truth is...

At home I sleep with a fan... during e-camp I slept every night with AIRCON.

At home I sometimes eat less cos I don't like the food... during e-camp I had so much good food that I gained 4kg in just 1.5 wks!

At home people find my jokes so lame that nobody laughs at them... during e-camp the workers all joke so much that nobody notices how lame my jokes are (:

It's no wonder that I miss the E-camp so much! Being able to serve Him in the Philipines was overwhelming and amazing. Just 24 hours a day of nothing else but focus on serving Him and enjoying fellowship with Christians who put God above all else, it’s practically heaven!

I'll definitely go back next time, but I'm going to place that desire aside for awhile because I know that He brought me back to Singapore to serve Him too, just in a different harvest field (: I'm gonna take all His lessons and put them to good use right here at home!

DON'T STOP PRAYING FOR THE WORKERS AND WORK THERE (: EVERY PRAYER IS PRECIOUS AND NEEDED!

The LORD honored when the team took steps of faith in prayer during flat tyres (bringing timely tricycles to the rescue on an empty road), during typhoons, and during earthquakes, and during objections from school authorities (by opening tightly closed doors so wonderfully)

He honored when newcomers (like me) took steps of faith in giving the gospel for the first time in their lives, with so many hearts opened and accepting toward His gift. Thank God for empowering the messages that resulted in a commitment to life-change.

There are people who will read and hear incredible things about the E-Camp and wonder, "Wow that's great. But things like that only happen in mission trips or to full-time workers. These things never happen in real life, right here in Singapore." OR "That sounds really interesting, but I'm too busy right now. My boss will never let me take leave. I'll just wait and see." OR "thank God for using those people! But it seems too tough and tiring, I don't think I'll adjust to the conditions there."

I used to be one of those people. Probably made the devil really happy with all my self-deceiving!

1) The God who made a typhoon disappear within minutes, moved the hearts of thousands of students, provided tricycles within seconds of prayer out of nowhere (and so much more).. isn't He the same God we have in Singapore?

The only difference is the faith we have! James 2:5! The poor are rich in faith. In Singapore, we've got so many ways to solve our problems (money, connections, knowledge, Internet, subordinates or colleagues) that we forget that the BEST way is to turn to God first for any problem. Psalm 127:1 & Romans 8:21. Though they have less in the Philippines, the Christians I met have such great joy and faith because of the simple acknowledgement that He is almighty God and nothing is impossible with Him.

2) The devil loves it when we think we have a lot of time. When we think have a lot of time, we don't tend to use each minute wisely and each second to its full potential. Honestly we don't know what will happen tomorrow, and the truth is we don't have forever. One of the reasons we don't do things like share the gospel with people around us, or show someone love and care is because we think we'll have the chance to do so sometime in the future.

If the doctor told me that I only had one day left to live, would I still live the way I'm living now? I know I wouldn't. Time passes quicker than we think, and after the moment has passed what's left is only regret. So when a chance arises to ask for forgiveness, or to forgive, or to share the gospel, or to show someone I care, I ask God for strength to treat it like my only chance and not waste it. Because it very well may be.

3) The harshest conditions you have to endure is maybe the hot sun and mosquitoes? But don't we face that in first world countries (like Singapore or US) too? With a cap, a fan, and mosquito repellent, there's nothing more to fear. And preaching your heart all day is more tiring than most people think!

All the stories I've heard about the e-campaign were those of timely answered prayers, amazingly changed hearts and lives, and pure hard work serving God. In my mind, the e-camp seemed like a perilous journey, incredibly intense with each day spent only in evangelising and prayer.

Before I left for the Philippines, I was scared to death about the idea of having to share the gospel to a whole classroom of people. In Singapore, it's difficult to share to one, now a whole classroom? It's a fact that I'm not great with speaking. Even prayer in small groups is not easy for me. In such circumstances, I thought I had to go with people I was familiar with. Y'know, for moral support and all, just to have someone to talk with through the problems that may arise. So I was all ready to go in wk 5 & 6 with a team which had the most youth. But God had other plans for me. I got news that school started on 1 Aug, and had to come back to register on 21 July. God planned it perfectly for me to go 1.5 weeks in wk 2-3 with Eugene and Daphne (GLCC).

Needless to say, I was scared to death. Since it might be my only chance to go before school took all my time away, i just took a step of faith and went. I just gripped tight to Philippians 4:13 in my heart and asked God every second for His strength to overcome my fear. The lesson I learned is that when you take steps of faith, God honors.

God promised that He wouldn't require of us anything more than we were capable of handling. He knew I was afraid of huge crowds so the first classroom He gave me was small, about 15 people. Not everyone is the same, so if God gave you a huge classroom, it's only because He knows you're capable of facing it. In my first classroom, I made the mistake of being so pre-occupied with telling the students every single illustration I knew of. With my Singaporean accent and nervous rambling, the illustrations confused them even more. Thank God for a SMCI student in the class who stood up and helped to reiterate to them the simple gospel after I was done. Or i might have been guilty for life.

Then I went to another classroom and heard Lydia (a teammate from Arizona) share the gospel. It was the same message, but simpler, and most importantly it was filled with an urgency that showed God's love through her for people she didn't even know.

It was then I realised what my problem was. The difference between me and the SMCI student or Lydia was simply that they had a huge burden for their souls, and I didn't. I asked for forgiveness and for a true burden for souls before I shared to anymore classes. Honestly I really am so thankful that God taught me that lesson in my very first class.

It wasn't about my public speaking skills, God made the gospel message so simple and clear, it didn't need any illustrations*. The students even knew most of the verses and could recite them better than me (I was so nervous I forgot John 3:16 and they recited it for me. Isn’t that incredible?)

*(Over time I learnt that they knew the message well enough, illustrations were needed only to clarify on the fact that we cannot save ourselves, there is only One way to Heaven and what it means to believe in Him. Because most Filipinos have grown up with different definitions of those things.)

God honored when I took a step of faith out of my comfort zone in going alone, and in talking to the huge intimidating team that joined the e-camp from Arizona and other places, despite our differences in accent, ages and backgrounds, He united all our hearts (US, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Ireland, Hong Kong, Brazil) in the love for His work and His people. When strangers are united in God's purpose, it's amazing how they can fellowship despite barely knowing anything about each other.

What a wonderful day today! Many great victories--but the team is very tired!!
Very few people realize just how utterly exhausting being on this kind of a campaign can be! Up early, travel and preach, talk to students in the blazing sun, travel (ptl for mostly aircon-ed vehicles this year), preach, talk to students, wait, pray, wait, pray, travel, preach... :) It's wonderful, but exhausting!

We expect the spiritual attack and refining, even if we are a bit surprised at the fierceness of our enemy--and that his main tool may be one of our teammates!
We expect the emotional distress caused by a dealing with several cultures, being away from home and the familiar, a new environment and food as well as being totally without rights--instructed where and what to eat, where and when to sleep, when and what to speak, etc!
However, one of the really surprising things is the physical exhaustion which is experienced almost immediately by the labourers-it's hot, it's humid and the pace is grueling--we are truly on a desperate mission! We believe as Christians we should put much effort into preparing and fulfilling the Great Commission! That's why we suggest you build your immunities, exercise, even do some endurance running, just to get ready. We PTL for every person willing to pay the price to serve for any amount of time! Frankly, the entire SMCI ministry gears up for a year for these precious 6 weeks! Jurgen has already left us and the rest of AZ2:Re:vive Team will be heading home tomorrow! The LORD has worked in their lives wonderfully! He has shaped them and refined them, and has used them for the Kingdom in an wonderfully eternal way! We are very thankful!

From the road this afternoon...

"It's raining quite heavily Bohol. God saw us through the 1.5hr journey & opened the doors in both the high school and college.

Finished 2 schools in the morning & the students were so attentive, ready to listen. Going to preach at the boarding house in the afternoon." Pearlyn (Singapore Team 4)

"Today God set me on fire. Not only was I able to give the gospel many times, but I could see the words piercing the hearts of those needing to hear it. At one of the high schools the students were all out for lunch. Makayla, Sarah and I were able to attract a few of them by playing a game. It wasn't long before we were surrounded by 11-14 year old boys and girls. I remember being terrified of every one of them. I prayed. and as the words came out of my mouth, I found even myself listening to them. I saw God working in their hearts as their expressions twisted in fits of convictions and gaped in awe and wonder. It was beautiful.

It took me a while to realize that preaching Christ had to be real. It had to be flexible. Our task was so much more than reciting words and illustrations or persuading students with analogies and comparisons. It was about giving them exactly what they needed to hear and when they needed to hear it. And because every class has a different dynamic, and because we didn't know what that dynamic was until five minutes into our presentation, there was no other option but to rely solely on God's trust....which as Pastor Jeff said to me 'is a nice place to be'.

"It has been an amazing answer to prayer to recieive an invitation to a particular campus! But today when we actually arrived at the University of Bohol, authorities did not give permission to go freely into the classrooms. At first they said only the core group of their students who are members of SMCI were going to be allowed to speak.

We prayed. God opened the doors a bit further. We were allowed to be on the campus outside of the classes witnessing to the students. We were also allowed to go into any class where there was an SMCI student enrolled who had gotten permission from his or her teacher for us to speak. Also, a couple Christian teachers gave us time in their classes.

Actually when we arrived a Christian teacher by the name of "Max" sat us all down in a classroom and talked to us on what the plan was and gave us advice -- on our accents and etc. The thing I thought that was neat was when we all sat down he said -- let's start out in prayer before I get into my plan!"

Just 5 Minutes? Are You Serious?

If you have been following the e-campaign, you know that last week the teams faced opposition on some of the campuses. NORSU (university) which has been one of SMCI's most fruitful fields over the past 10 years suddenly after the first two hours of the first day shut down the e-campaign and sent the team away.

On the second day, when the team arrived with letters of permission in hand, they waited again for the go-ahead from the Vice President. They waited and prayed, waited and prayed.

Finally, SMCI leaders Pastor Mitch and Fily Joy and the rest of the SMCI team arrived with the good news,

"They'll give us 5 minutes!"

"The window is only for this morning

and it's only 5 minutes in each classroom,

you have to be careful and get it right, or they'll stop us."

Here's the plan: We'll go in twos. One will preach. One will time and pray. We have to ask God for power on the 5 minutes. You have to give the Gospel, the invitation, then welcome them to join the Gospel Nights!

The time was short. Everyone listened carefully to directions and instructions.

Got it!

When they understood, they prayed for power, committed themselves to the LORD and off they went!

In they went. Five minutes at a time. One preached, one prayed and kept the time.

And it was just like our wonderful LORD to bless and bring forth fruit and students that came out to the night meetings.

On and on they went all morning and when the they gathered back together it was with praise and joy! The 5 minute limit did not hinder the Gospel! ;) The Spirit moved and empowered!

Week 3, Day 19 Friday, 22 July 2011 Negros Oriental

This team waited a very long time
for approval for the principle!
When they finally got it, it was an entire
class hour! The LORD gave fruit!

WOW! Thanks LORD! 135,154 people have heard the Gospel!

Today the LORD allowed:

137 preaching opportunities

5951 people heard the Gospel and

4748 made decisions! :)

Each team member brought the Gospel

Many decisions were made

And then on to the next school!

Lot's of Traveling Teams This Weekend!

Pray for the teams traveling! The whole e-Campaign is moving to the island of Bohol on Saturday! Some folks are returning, others joining in!

One arriving team is Singapore Team 4 who flew out tonight! Several veterans in this group and some first timers too! Remember them in prayer. Also, for the first time we have someone from Grace Baptist Ministries, Singapore participating! Welcome one and all!

The Singapore Team 4 has chosen Act 1:8 as their team verse! Go in the power of the Spirit guys and be witnesses! Bring them in! They will be catching up with the e-Campaign in Bohol on Saturday morning, Lord willing!
